THE SECOND WORLD WAR
(1939-1945)

With 60 countries at war, this conflict claimed nearly 40 million lives (including 6 million by genocide) and left 20 million wounded.

Clips from the film archives show the efforts of the Red Cross and Red Crescent in some key events.

Unfortunately, the Movement could do virtually nothing for the people deported to the concentration camps. At that time, there was no convention to protect civilians.
